The Appeals Panel
If your application to join the Only The Best award is refused, or the award revoked, you can appeal in writing within 21 days of the decision to The Head of Food & Health and Safety, Community Services Directorate, Wealden District Council, Council Offices, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN23 2AX.
If you appeal you must clearly state the reasons for your appeal in writing. We will then refer your case to the Appeals Panel, which is independent of the Food & Health and Safety Team. Your case will be heard within 28 days of receipt of your written appeal.
The Appeals Panel consists of three members:
- a member of Wealden's Consumer Panel
- an Environmental Health Officer from another authority
- a business person who does not hold the Only The Best Award
The decision of the Appeals Panel will be final, and confirmed in writing to you.
